I recently paid a visit to the Belinda Hayle Aesthetics clinic in Chertsey, Surrey, for a ‘facial green peel treatment’ that was devised by Dr med Christine Schrammek.

My skin was hyper pigmented, looked dull and in need of some magic and who better to provide it but Belinda herself. I chose a ‘green peel’ as opposed to other treatments because it is purely herbal. You are safe in the knowledge that a maximum of two layers of skin will be affected as opposed to a chemical peel. The process started off with a consultation and Belinda queried if I had any medical conditions since it would make a difference to the treatment plan. Armed with all the facts she advised me to have a mini green peel treatment.

My skin was given a double facial cleanse, followed by an astringent. Belinda then gently massaged a potion which consisted of herbs and algae that contained minerals, vitamins and enzymes into my skin. Despite the massage being gentle I could feel a stinging sensation. However it was bearable! Belinda allowed for my skin to relax before she repeated the massage. When I was allowed to look into the mirror I was already amazed at the difference. My skin although a bit flushed had already begun to glow without recourse to a beauty flash balm. The entire process took approximately an hour and a half, so yes I could have taken a 'long lunch' hour.

Since Belinda is qualified not just in performing the treatment but also in an understanding of all the products she uses; I was advised to apply a couple of products from Dr Schrammek’s range to optimise the condition of my skin. I left the clinic feeling extremely happy!

For me the next few days were just as Belinda had described. I had a personalised skincare plan to take home which I followed and found that by day three, my skin began flaking. It was more visible on day four and five. I could not wash my face which was strange to begin with but seeing the results of the treatment I would have endured more than that. Day five is the ‘ultimate test,’ when you return to Belinda to have a beauty finish treatment and your skin is ‘reborn.’ For me it meant more radiant, fresher and younger looking skin. Additionally a huge positive with this type of treatment is that the ‘down time,’ is minimal.
